Mike likes frogs and newts and mother trees and mycelium and imagining that there are gnomes in every forest. He likes hockey and is glued to every Capitals game. Mike believes that there is enough wonder in our midst to last our curiosity a lifetime. And he loves walking with his wife Emily and their dog Oliver.

Anne is a musician, a poet, an auntie, and a teacher. She loves rivers and seeing large men walking tiny dogs.

BOARD TREASURER

Ren is a teacher of K-5 multilingual learners, a neighbor in Haystack Heights cohousing, and a Gaia-worshipping, dirt-loving practitioner of landcare as prayer. She loves roly polies, rocking out at Timeworm shows, and crafting soap & brooms & mullein torches & who knows what next? Ren found her way to Branches in 2021 and is still astounded that such a community exists.

Leila joined Branches in 2018 and is oh so grateful for this community of creative thinkers and deep feelers. Leila is a school counselor by day, and a friend, a daughter, a sister, a birder, and a long walk lover by life. Some of the people, places, and things Leila loves most are the Spokane River, her growing collection of Mary Oliver poetry, her Brandi Carlile concert tees, and her cat, Katara. If you want to talk about branches, life, or birds, she would love to get coffee or tea with you- please reach out!

Mackenzie is a reader, a writer, and most of all, a cat mom. An MFA alumni and story enthusiast, they are usually plugged into an audiobook, whether walking, crocheting, cooking, or even daydreaming about their debut short story collection. Mackenzie has been a part of the Branches community since 2017 and loves watching this community grow and evolve. If you ever want to talk book recommendations, run, do not walk, in Mackenzie’s direction.
